The Espresso Retro showroom in Tsuen Wan

Why We Built a Showroom

An espresso machine is a strange thing to buy from a photo. On a screen, two machines can look almost identical. On the counter, one feels right in your hand and the other doesn't. One fits the way you wake up, and the other asks for more than you want to give at seven in the morning. You only find out by making coffee on them.

That is why we built a showroom in Tsuen Wan, and why it was never meant to be a shop window. It's a place to make coffee. The machines are switched on, and you are welcome to bring the beans you drink at home. Pull a shot, steam some milk, change the grind and try again. Ask the questions you would feel silly asking online. Most people arrive with one machine in mind and leave knowing a lot more about what they actually want, which isn't always the same thing.

We see people by appointment, and that's on purpose. When you come in, the time is yours. Nobody is waiting behind you and nobody is in a hurry to sell you anything. Some visits take twenty minutes. Others turn into a whole afternoon of tasting and talking about roasts, water and how much space you really have next to the kettle. Both are fine with us.

Inside the Espresso Retro showroom in Tsuen Wan

The showroom shares its home with our service centre, and that matters more than it sounds. The people who help you choose your machine are the same people who will look after it later. When you send us a message a year from now because something feels different, we will already know your machine, and probably you too.

Hong Kong kitchens are rarely big, and a good espresso setup is a real decision. You want to see how much room it truly takes, and to feel whether you'll still enjoy using it in two years. We think the best way to find out is standing in front of the machine with a cup in your hand.

So come and see us. The showroom is open seven days a week by appointment. Send us a WhatsApp at +852 9476 9677, tell us what you're curious about, and we'll have it warmed up when you arrive.
